In 2009 Orchard Workshop received funding from South Gloucestershire Learning Difficulties Partnership Board and the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund to start a scheme to give people with learning difficulties the opportunity to learn about setting up and running a small craft enterprise. The group is known as the Orchard Woodpeckers and they meet every week at the workshop. They have sold their work at various venues and have also had a number of commissions.
